Sample Clients:Private College, Fuel Cell ProjectSES provided consulting services to a College when Merck and Harvard Medical School wanted to lease part of their property to house a 1.2 MW fuel cell power plant. The plant was going to provide premium power to Merck and HMS' new research facilities. Massachusetts Town, Wind Turbine ProjectSES assisted a Town through the early stages of developing wind power. On behalf of the Town, SES applied for and won a $40,000 MTC grant to support the work. Local School, Wind Turbine ProjectSES assisted a school through the early stages of developing wind power. The first study reported a hopeful wind regime and explored multiple scenarios for its development. The project is currently in the permitting process for erecting a meteorological tower to measure the quality of available wind. Public Land Trust, Wind Turbine ProjectSES wrote a preliminary study and assisted members of the Board through the early stages of deciding whether to proceed with a wind turbine on an urban tract of land. Private College, Energy Use ReductionsSES assisted a college to identify and quantify electric and gas savings to be expected from installing such technologies as a computerized energy management system. Research Institution, Energy Use ReductionsSES assisted a research organization to identify and quantify electric and gas savings to be expected from installing such technologies as exhaust hoods with varying volume depending on employee behavior. Global Manufacturer, Energy EfficiencyFor a printed circuit board manufacturer SES performed a technical and human factors energy efficiency study with Phase 1 recommendations for saving, for example, more than 130,000 therms/year of gas with payback times of less than 2.5 years. Global Manufacturer, Energy EfficiencyFor a foundry SES is finalizing a technical and human factors energy efficiency study with Phase 1 recommendations for saving, for example, more than 250,000 therms/year of gas with payback times of less than 2.5 years. Private School, Green BuildingSES assembled a team consisting of one of the country's best green architects to design and construct a green science and math building. Public Transit System, Software for OperationsSES designed and programmed a Microsoft Windows database program so that line personnel in a public transportation system could track operations and maintenance in the entire system. Human factors design led to color displays on the screens so that it would always be obvious to users which line the information was for. The team worked closely with site personnel and then trained them, resulting in quick acceptance. Additional Experience:
